Pedro Strop posted a 2.90 ERA across 464 MLB games from 2009-2018, serving primarily as a setup man and closer. Originally signed by Colorado as a shortstop in 2002, he switched to pitching in 2006 after struggling offensively through four minor league seasons. Strop made his MLB debut with Texas in 2009, was traded to Baltimore in 2011 where he went 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA, then joined Chicago in the 2013 Jake Arrieta trade. He became the Cubs' closer in 2018, recording 13 saves with a 2.26 ERA in 58 appearances during their playoff run.
