Mike Fiers pitched in Major League Baseball from 2011-2019, compiling a career record across four teams after being drafted by Milwaukee in the 22nd round of the 2009 draft. He began his professional career in 2009 with Helena (Rookie), Wisconsin (Class A), and Brevard County (A-Advanced), advancing through Huntsville (AA) in 2010-2011 before reaching Triple-A Nashville and making his MLB debut on September 10, 2011. At Nova Southeastern University in 2009, Fiers posted a 10-3 record with 2.65 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 108.2 innings, leading all college baseball in strikeouts after recovering from a serious car accident that broke four vertebrae in 2008. Fiers threw two no-hitters during his MLB career (2015 with Houston, 2019 with Oakland) and became known as the whistleblower in the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal. His experience overcoming adversity and pitching at the highest level gives him unique insight into mental toughness and the mechanics needed for sustained success on the mound.
