Lenny Dykstra starred at Garden Grove High School in California, hitting .494 with 50 hits as a senior and setting records with 89 career stolen bases. The New York Mets drafted him and he debuted in 1985, playing 5 seasons (1985-1989) and helping capture the 1986 World Series championship. He hit .295 with 30 home runs and 45 stolen bases in 147 games during his final Mets season in 1989. Traded to Philadelphia, Dykstra became a three-time All-Star with the Phillies (1989-1996), posting his best season in 1993 when he hit .305 with 19 home runs and 37 stolen bases while leading Philadelphia to the World Series.
