Jeff Frye played second base across eight MLB seasons from 1992-2001, compiling a .274 career batting average with 20 home runs and 138 RBI in 457 games. After graduating from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, the Oakland native was drafted by Texas in the 30th round of the 1988 draft and debuted with the Rangers on July 9, 1992, going 2-for-3 with a triple in his first game. Following his release from Texas's Triple-A Oklahoma City affiliate in 1996 after hitting .238 in 49 games, Frye signed with Boston and enjoyed his best season in 1997, hitting .310 with 6 homers in 127 games for the Red Sox. He later played for Colorado and Toronto, becoming just the second Blue Jay in franchise history to hit for the cycle on August 17, 2001. Now working as a player agent representing MLB talent including Ian Kinsler and Darren Oliver, Frye's experience climbing from a 30th-round pick to an eight-year veteran gives him unique insight into the mental side of hitting and adapting at every professional level.
